Each year, the Treasurer’s Office receives thousands of questions and inquiries from our customers. Most of these customers actually need assistance from a different office and are transferred to either the Beaufort County Assessor’s or Auditor’s Offices.

You will want to contact the Beaufort County Assessor’s Office. Their team manages the Legal Residence and Agricultural Use Exemptions process as well as sets the values for all land and buildings in Beaufort County.

You will want to contact the Beaufort County Auditor’s Office. Their team manages the Homestead Exemption process, calculates the taxes due, as well as sets the values for all personal property in Beaufort County.
