Your Annual Tax Bill Is On Its Way

If you own property in Beaufort County, your tax bill is on it’s way. Our office expects the hardcopy bills to be in mailboxes by next week but if you’ve signed up for e-billing on myBeaufortCounty, you’ve already received your bill. (If you’re interested in tax discounts, check out this blog.)

When a customer receives a bill, two things typically happen…they may have a question about their bill or they want to know how to pay. This is our busiest time of year so let’s go through some information that will both help you and save you time.

If you have questions about…

  • You will want to contact the Beaufort County Assessor’s Office. Their team manages the Legal Residence Exemption process as well as sets the values for all land and buildings in Beaufort County.

They can be reached by calling 843-255-2400 but the fastest way to get your questions answered is to email them at Assessor@bcgov.net.

  • You will want to contact the Beaufort County Auditor’s Office. Their team manages the Homestead Exemption process, calculates the taxes due, as well as sets the values for all personal property in Beaufort County.

They can be reached by calling 843-255-2500 but the fastest way to get your questions answered is to email them at Auditor@bcgov.net.

  • If you’re ready to pay, visit myBeaufortCounty to pay online and manage your bills.

If you have questions about paying, you’ll want to contact our Office. Our team manages the distribution and collection on all property tax bills.

The fastest way to get your questions answered is using our awesome chat (look for the black chat bubble in the bottom right corner of your screen 😊).

We can also be reached by email or by phone at 843-255-2600.

Throughout the year, our team speaks with many customers who do not successfully receive their bills through the regular mail. Mailing issues and late payments can be avoided all-together when you sign up for myBeaufortCounty.

We want our customers set up for success and to be aware of every opportunity to save money and have a great payment experience.
